Re: Ideas for removing trailing arms
I just did my trailing arms and I must have been lucky. hardest part was cranking on the breaker bar, then the things popped right out. didn't even need to slap mine with the hammer. best of luck to the o.p. hope the darn things popped out eventually
Re: Ideas for removing trailing arms
Heat did it.
Then getting the ****ing bolts out was a giant PITA.
Sleeve was practically welded to the bolt. Nearly destroyed the bracket trying to get it off.
All in all, wasn't worth the time I put in.
Re: Ideas for removing trailing arms
I know I never woulda bothered changing mine had I not broke a stock one. Although, it was kinda worth it because it stiffened up the rear end.
Re: Ideas for removing trailing arms
i used a long ass wrench with a cheater pipe and a dead blow from the other side. i was also concerned with the bushing catching fire so i opted lever arm over heat. a bunch of penetrating oil is necessary and it wouldn't hurt to cut the bushing in multiple places as bushing failure should help in removing the bolt. essentially you have to accept that you need a new bolt. because if the nut is off and the bolt is stuck, you will have marred threads.
Re: Ideas for removing trailing arms
Nah, saved the bolts.
Though apparently they're TTY.
I dont get that at ALL.
