I'm lowering my car this winter and I was looking at H&R lowering springs but I don't really know much about them. These springs drop the car more then the Eibachs or the SSC springs and thats the look I want. If anyone can tell me the good and the bads about them that would be great. Thanks

they probably drop just short of what eibachs would and more than what SSC would. any specs that are given on lowering springs are way wrong. eibach says they have a 1.3" drop, but my car was 2"+ lower.
i really need to make a sticky on suspension stuff.

I lowered my car with B&G lowering springs and 1.5" drop and I just wondered if anyone on here has had any issues with their axels after lowering their car. I know that lowering the car changes the angle of the axels from the stock location and I wonder if anyone experienced any problems like vibrations when driving or anything??

Oops, sorry everyone.. I guess I should proof read my messages before posting them. I just realized I said "I lowered my car with B&G springs and 1.5" drop" I meant to say "A" 1.5" drop. Sorry about the confusion..

acceleration vibration is fairly common when youre lowered too much and your motor mounts are fairly worn. there are a couple fixes, but the REAL fix (which no one ever does because it would be crazy expensive) is to get custom length axles made.Originally Posted by Jason

What are the other fixes?? I am guessing getting custom made axels would be REALLY expensive.. Do I need to change my motor mounts? I am having the EXACT problem you diagnosed, "acceleration vibration"..and its EXTREMELY irritating.. lol. What else do you suggest? Thanks!

there are two fixes:
1) shorter dogbones to pull the motor forwards a little
shorter dogbones are an 'okay' fix because they put more stress on your motor mounts and you have the potential of pulling your exhaust far enough up that it hits the firewall or the tunnel underneath the car. this is the fix i did on my car and it worked very well.
2) put spacers in between your motor mounts and the motor/trans to raise the motor and transmission back up to where it was supposed to be.
this is probably the best fix as it has no ill side effects. however, if your exhaust setup is funky, this will also bring it closer to hitting on things. you only need something that is like 1/2" thick or so. i think ZZP sells some crappy ones, but they are easy enough to make if you know how to use power tools.

yeah, i can still say that i loved the way my car looked much more than a lot of other peoples and there are some very nice prix's out there.

that's done really well though. everything you did is really subtle and kept the look of it really clean. i love the green on these cars too, it cleans up so well. throw in the top swap and it's a real sleeper

sold it with chipping front and rear bumpers, the passenger side door molding was coming off, it had the stock wing and wheels, it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, a few dents and scrapes, the hood was rock chipped pretty bad, the windshield had a crack all the way across it, the interior was half assed back together since i took it apart so often and lost 3/4 of the clips...etc...
the car just wasnt in great condition compared to what it was when i got it. i lost interest in keeping it nice after i started breaking it all the time (too much go fast parts).

Although not as firm, last time I checked, Autozone sold the solid rubber mounts for the engine. Our stock hydraulic fluid ones were in so bad of shape when I replaced them, that I noticed less vibration from the solid mounts. I think it was $50 for the motor mount, and maybe 30-40 for the tranny? Not sure, give them a call!
