the sad thing is no one has an answer for you. i wish i did, but i have no idea how that setup should look. does the gtp have sort of magnaride/cvrs? my eldorado would do that because the sensor in the back was bad, so it would automatically lower it. my eldo for a time damn near drug the rear bumper at times no matter how little i had in the trunk.
well fromt coils, struts, bearing plates, all new. i have even tried different pogo washers, maybe its the monroe struts.....i know engines but susp. is greek to me. thanks for answering
if the springs are shot it could cause it i'm no expert but i get the general idea and a 77 monte is alot different than the gp, but that would be the next thing i'd check
NO it's normal dude drive it a few oil changes and tell me if it is still stiff. Chances are you were use to having a soft ride. The valving is new on your new struts and very very stiff. I've heard this complaint many times. In 3-6 thousand miles I'm betting you won't complain.
Maybe the most overlooked but how are the tires? And what size? The bigger the rims the less cusion thats obvious, I just got a set of Bfgoodrich Touring Pro tires put on my 02 GP today with 126k miles and rides stops and feels 100% different than the Toyos I replaced. I have never done struts, springs, or mounts yet tho their next up. Including trailing arms, upper and lower ball joints, sway bar end links and strut bearings.
i hate to dissappoint u guys, but tires are very good, rode bad on other tires. got around 12k to 15k miles on the springs and struts. i will not use the sensatrac next time. i just want something more comfy but still have a slight perf. offering. that might be asking much but a comfy ride will be nice. monroes on this car, suck.p.s....all other front end components seem to be good, recently alignment was done too, because of new tires. gotta be struts
You do realise you bought the softest struts I believe are available for the GP. If you dont like the sensatracs Im about 99% sure any KYB or other strut will be firmer than those. My suggestion if you want a softer ride find some oem buick struts!!
well stock rims and tires 225/60/16... i thought i had heard something about the monroes but wasn't sure. i was just trying to stay with a quality name without going broke. so what u guys recommend???kyb's??
