hey, i have a 99 gt, and in dire need of shocks, they have NEVER been replaced since we owned the car (she bought it at 16k miles..its almost 100k now) and have been looking at KYB and stuff, but dont want to spend arm and a leg on the AGX. are gas-a-just the gr2? and are these ok if i decide on getting the sway bar upgrades and not really lowering springs, but better than stock ones? i agree our cars sit high, but i dont wanna lower it more than 1.5 inches...i know eibach has a 1.6" kit or something...

vogtland springs. That is what I am going to be putting on I have them sitting in the box right now. GR2 struts will work fine with them. They are the springs that came on the GTX IIRC.

so these are good huh? thinking about it. just compress springs and remove shocks and what not as an assembly and swap em in huh? might do this...i usually do all the work on car, but i dont have lift only if i did, i would never leave my garage!

You pull the strut first. You would just compress the new springs first and put them on the new strut. I would be new mounts and everything too. That way it is all new and ready to go.

vogtland springs will lower the car just enough to make it look clean and nice. it will still ride pretty well and you might not have to worry about acceleration vibrations.

any thoughts on wanting to go lower?

i didnt want to go too low, if any at all. but my shocks are shot...and i know about the mounting plates. so i guess gr-2s and vogtlands are good to go then. only when i have smore money i will buy these. need suspension in our van too...i think sway bars and poly bushings too. is this a good suggestion? or uneeded parts?

poly bushings for sure, no point in upgrading sway bar unless it pops, especially on a van thats probably not built for cutting corners. and spend the extra 20 a corner and buy new strut mounts for your GP. You'll regret it later if you don't and in 10k your pulling the rears out to put new mounts in. Well worth it while your replacing struts and springs. For your GP check out Summitracing.com for a sway bar if that one does go. They have the GM Performance Parts bar for 65, which is MUCH cheaper then jap OE replacements!
