I was looking through some catalogs for new struts, and found the KYB's are decent price for our cars. I know on the rear drive cars a lot of guys love them. Any reviews on the GP?

    KYBs are decent struts.

I have a set of KYB GR2s on my car now. They are good for stock replacement. But the GR2s are not meant for cars that are lowered. When I bought my car, it was lowered on B&G springs and KYB GR2s. They only had around 10k miles on them and they were shot. The lowering springs just don't do well for the struts.

If you want to lower, your best bet is the KYB AGXs as these are more geared towards lowering springs, and are adjustable. But they are more expensive.

So depending on what your plan is for your car, KYB seem to have it covered and they have the reputation that the struts hold up.

Cheapest price I ever found for new KYB GR2s was on ebay. I was going to buy them from there until I found this used set for cheap that I am running now.

I have gr2s, and I'm lowered. They seem to be holding up fine. The ride is fairly comfortable, except on really bumpy roads

I have the GR2's as well, and like has already been said, they are a good stock replacement.

Unless they are closer than 100 miles, its not really worth picking them up. With the price of gas you will almost spend $30 just in getting there.

Let do some quick math. $30 to ship. Gas is ~$3/gallon. So you can buy 10 gallons for the price to ship them. 10 gallons at 20 mpg is 200 miles. So 100 miles would be the farthest I would consider driving. You can adjust for your own gas price and MPG, but that is just quick mental math....typed out.

    Just sayin....

I plan to take a trip that way next week anyway (I go to NAS Pensacola fairly often, and it's only about 20 minutes from there)

I have them on the front, they're good, and seem a little stiffer than the oem struts.

I had the KYB GR2's with SSC Gen II Springs, Reptile owns them now, but I did not like the harsh ride they provided in a DD. My next setup for lowering my car will be the KYB AGX struts and hopefully another set of SSC Gen II's, a lot of people have commented that the AGX's are more "lowered friendly" the regular GR2s.

But like you said Arch, I built mine from scratch and got all new rubber rings and other parts to make a complete new setup. And just kept my stockers for when I would ever change out my car.

Here is a picture of the setup I had before I installed them..
