My front brake pads are at about 20-30% so I'm going to be putting on new pads rotors and tires at the same time here early this spring. I was looking at the gxp brakes then the fbodies but came to the conclusion that I was satisfied with the brake performance of the factory pads and rotors that a good set of stock size rotors and 05 ceramic pads would do just fine and save some cash.

Anyway the point of my post is the Rotorpros.com has Centric cross-drilled rotors and centric posi quiet ceramic pads for $300 after shipping. That sounds like a good price to me.

Has anyone had Centric material? I would like to know if their quality is ok. Thanks.

Are the GXP ones able to fit? I thought Comp G's 11.9" was smaller than the GXP's cross-drilled rotor? If they do, did you price them? Do you know what model rotor rotorpros.com said would work on your car? I had Centric rotors on my 98' GTP (stock size) and they were incredible loved'em.

yea they are able to fit but I dont really want to put a used pair of rotors and calipers on my car and the new ones are more expensive.

I know they would be more expensive but I can't find anyone else who sells a cross drilled rotor to fit on 04' Comp G's. I would be willing to buy a pair from GM if it came down to it.

After becoming seriously pissed off at my dealership because they wouldn't go in the back room and get a GXP rotor for me to measure... I've arrived at the conclusion that GXP Front rotors are 12.8125 and will not fit on Comp G's 11.90 (Standard) without an adaptor on the caliper.
P.S. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM CLASSIC PONTIAC IN STREETSBORO, OH!!!

yea it takes a little more then just upgrading rotors to get GXP brakes. ive come to the conclusion after reading posts on clubgp that its not worth it for me to upgrade to GXP brakes. after putting on a good set of rotors, '05 ceramic brake pads ('05 pads will fit on the '04, they actually are a tad bit bigger), and steel braided brake lines along with some good Willwood or Baer brake fluid its going to give me a heck of an improvement.

I'm a big Hawk fan. I run HPS pads front and back with cross drilled rotors. I haven't felt the need to upgrade to F-Bodies yet, I ran F-Bodies on my last 2 Grand Prixs though, again with Hawk pads and they were excellent.

And what type of rotors are you running Will? I am dying for some cross drilled that will fit my car.

I run/sell rotors made by a local company in Ontario that are very good compared to typical ebay rotors, but if I was in the USA I'd look at R1 Concepts rotors on ebay eBay Store - R1Concepts: Performance Brake Pads, Performance Brake Rotors, OE - Brake Rotors.

For Hawk pads, order them from performancepeddler.com in the USA.

yea im going the ebay route also when my brakes and rotors are due. I think back then the ebay rotors used to be crap but lately they seem to be of a lot better quality and up to bar at half the price.

I ordered a set of front rotors just to try them out from that R! Concepts. They came with a free set of pads that I had planned on throwing away. Box shows up from R1 and everything in the box says Centric rotors on them!! They were around $188 total w/ shipping. They run amazing well. I will probably still get some Hawk pads though.

I was looking at this set for my GTX.

    eBay Motors: MONTE CARLO 00 01 02 03 04 D/S ROTORS CERAMIC PADS (item 220192022020 end time Apr-13-08 08:01:21 PDT)

They are wanting $205 shipped for 4 discs and a full set of Power Stop Evolution ceramic brakes pads included, I am going to be getting the Monte Carlo setup for my 12" brackets I have waiting to put on my car and I will be using factory calipers for a while more before I upgrade to the Fbody Dual Pistion Calipers.

Unless Steve at R1 can work out a deal similar? I know Chris, webracin, used/uses R1 Rotors and has been completely satisfied with them. On my old GT, I had a set from Tutu Automotive from up there in Canada and they were an excellent product that I purchased off eBay as well.

It seems like a lot of the rotors/discs being sold on eBay are coming out of Canada for some odd reason, not that, that is a bad thing, just something I have noticed over the past few years
