I have the opportunity to buy a rear strut tower brace for a very good deal.
I currently don't have a front one. Will there be any benefit from buying this and installing it? I plan on eventually buying a front one also but for now will the car still handle good with just the rear.

BTW the car is a 97 GTP around 275+ whp

You won't be able to tell any difference with the front and the rear more than likley.

But if it's a good deal go for it.

The rear makes the biggest difference of the two. The front only a small difference. Buy it.

Some actually prefer only the rear to both. You might too.

You will definitely feel a difference in how tight the rear feels when cornering or if you are turning a corner that has a curb or hump in it. The car will feel more solid when going over it. It wont feel like its flexing a much as compared to one without.

I am running both a front and rear Speedbuilt STB and I lovem to death!

The only word of caution I mention is avoid just drilling into the strut tower to secure the brace. I would get Don Rome's brackets to add to the STB to allow them to hook upto the strut tower bolts. It will make it a lot more secure in the long run

Are there any vehicles that have stock ones that would fit on a 2002 gt?

Any specific models that came stock with them? I was looking at a 2000 regal sc that had one but I noticed that my strut towers don't have the same studs that it bolted to. I would prefere one that bolts on to the strut mount bolts.

None came stock like that, so you won't find any at a junk yard. 00-03 Impalas and Montes had the front STB stock. But you would need to either drill into your strut towers (not desirable) or get the brackets to add them without drilling.

Here's a picture of the brackets. DonRome makes them:

So even with the brackets you still have to drill into the towers, the bracket would just add strenght then right?

No, the brackets make it so you don't have to drill. They go onto two of the strut mount studs (on each strut), and then the STB bolts to the brackets.

Oh Ok, the pics make it look as if the bolts go through the bracket and into the top of the strut tower. Thanks.
