Looking a replacing the front struts, maybe the rears as well.

Not looking to break the bank, just a daily driver car. Probably have it for another 3-4 years is all.

What is a decent quality/priced struts front and rear for this car?

    Thanks,
    John

Probably go with KYB GR-2's. Don't forget to replace all the strut mounts too.

I second KYB's. In my experience, Monroe rides too 'wavy' for my liking.

Buying assemblies makes the process easier if you don't have a strut compressor, but if you're just changing the tubes, make sure to swap insulators and replace mounts.

GR2 or AGX if you like a little firmer adjustable ride

What is the difference between the Monroe Quickstruts 172177 ($109) and RoadMatic 182177 ($73). These are going on a kids go to college car, so just want to keep a decent ride on a budget. I am ok spending the extra, but only if I am going to see a benefit.

Both of these are full assemblies, anything else I would need to knock out the project?

    Thanks,
    John

The Roadmatics are the "budget" version. I don't have personal experience with Monroes, but if thats what your going with your better off spending the extra for the quickstruts. Doesn't sound like your building a racecar or anything like that so there's no need to go overboard, but just keep in mind struts aren't something you want to cheap out on

Don't go the Monroe route. They've gone down the Goodyear route, a formerly proud company selling garbage.
