Yeah, it's free, and it does help a bit. Takes less than 5 minutes to do.

it helps, but poly mounts are a whole 'nother ball game. when i put my poly mounts in my car, even with worn lower mounts, does not jerk when i put it in gear anymore.

with some wd40 and a vice i thought they were pretty easy to put it. the hardest part was getting the old rubber pieces out (i cut them out).

Like Bio said, you need either WD40 or some type of silicone spray to help with the process. The toughest part is getting the rubber hump in the middle to pop out. I used a very long bladed screw driver to get under the hump in the middle of the stock rubber mount and then lifted it up and out. Its a PITA no doubt, but its not hard to do.

Cutting them out is an option too, but its gonna take several good cuts to get to where it will fall out. I would just recommend the WD40/Screw driver method if you are not good with knives

The new Polymounts are easy to get in. They dont have that hump that the stockers have. You will see what I mean when you get the first one out. The only thing on the Polymounts is that there is a certain way you have to mount them in to fit correctly.

The picture below shows exactly how they should line up with the metal part of the motormount.

The cut in the Polymount has to match up with the cut in the metal part of the mount to seat properly. Just thought I would point that out for ya

the only lower poly mount that ive seen is ZZPs tranny mount. i dont want my car to rattle much more than it does now so im just replacing the lowers with solid mounts from NAPA.

yeah that was a fun day, cutting out the old mounts. As far as poly lower mounts, Ive heard things about them cracking, and their expensive. I was just going to get solid ones from awfulzone.

I have the MSP mounts. They work great and don't really produce any vibration at lights or anything.

Well I have had mine in for 2 years now without any issues involving cracking. They are not as solid as you think. They are solid in a technical sense but they are not like a metal compound or say ceramic where the potential for cracking would be more likely. They are a polymer material and unless you cook them or something insane like that, I really don't see them cracking unless you installed them WAY WRONG, which is almost next to impossible really.

The price no doubt is expensive. I will NEVER argue that one! But for the difference in engine feel and response, its a night and day difference. Certainly there is a trade off with going to a solid mount as compared to hallow, stock mount. I feel a little more engine vibration sitting at a stop light, but that quickly leavings once I start rolling off the stop light. And on the highway I dont detect any extra vibration than I normally would expect.

Just my 2c on that one

I've had poly upper mounts for going on 4 years now....no issues with those.

I've also got the poly trans mount, and that is one rough vibrating MOFO.

prob. redundant but i was reading this thread and wondering what flipping the mounts meant? the upper stabilizer mounts? what does the result get you? i just replaced the radiator in my car and noticed my upper bushings were pretty worn on those mounts. i may go with the poly mounts like Bio and Geddy Lee.

the upper front mounts can be turned 90* so that they move less. it helps, but it's nothing like having poly mounts. the benefit of it is that it's free.
