Wondering how long you guys are seeing your CV axles last that have cars that are lowered substantially. Like frame is literally 2 inches off the ground and to get a jack under it you have to drive onto a piece of wood low. I read the thread BIO made on lowered cars and I am expecting accelerated wear, just wondering how fast. I just bought this car and the CV axles all have pulled the boots off and sprayed all the grease out. I believe the boots pulled off because they are the junky hard plastic type and not soft rubber. I've only found napa stores to have cv axles with the good boots so far. I'm just wondering how long a set of axles lasts because as much as I like scraping the ground I may raise the car up a bit if the axles will be wearing out all the time.

    Thanks for any help guys

I was no where near that low because I wanted to daily drive my car without killing it everyday but I had mine lowered for like 3 years and never went through an axle. Still had to pick up the front end to get my jack under it.

I also used motor mount spacers to raise the engine/trans up to help correct some of the angle.

Engine & Trans Mount Spacers – ZZPerformance

I used these when I lowered mine and this is what FFDP is talking about
