I just replaced my right rear hub with a Detroit axle brand hub and all my lights are still on. What else could it be? Same codes are still on even after replacing the hub.

I should add. It started happening a few months ago only when I had a passenger and I put it in gear. Now it happens as soon as I start the car. Couldn't really fix it over winter.

Check all the wiring to it and make sure it's good. Other than that could be a bad EBCM.

Could I repair the ebcm myself? The wiring seems like a pain to trace, could it be a bad ground somewhere (where is the ebcm/speed sensor ground)?

I doubt it's the front left, already replace the hub and wire(there was water in the strink tube around the wires).

Check wiring and connections; the connectors can be problematic.

If it changes with adding a passenger, it's clear the wiring harness and/or sensor are moving with the suspension travel. It's probably binding or shorting somewhere by the wheel.

I'd do like everyone suggested and look there.

And using a Detroit Axle part; Their steering racks are notorious for almost immediate failure. It's possible you picked up a dud, but those are super easy to test. Just spin the wheel with a multimeter handy.

Hey Metal I just said it was my front left as an example found it by playing with the wires and it set off the abs light. The wiring is noted for going bad near the plug that connects to the wheel bearing not the wheel bearing wire its self good luck man.

Thanks, I'll check when it's not raining. How would I check the connector? I picked up an extra pigtail at the junkyard so I could test the hubs easier, that I could splice in. Do I just perform a continuity test that the connector is good?

Use a pick to pull out the tabs on the connectors a little bit.

Does anyone have part numbers for the female connectors or will I have to grab some from the junkyard and hope they're not broken?

You will probably just have to buy another wheel bearing for the female connector on the bearing itself

Thank you RickisRad but I need the rear connectors, which seem harder to locate. Also the male is on the hub and female is on the wire(I guess the male prongs go into the female is how that's determine? Kinda confusing). The only markings are "PED 7", light gray connector, red seal with two locking tabs.

If I can't find a part number I'll pull the nicest set I can find from the Upullit tomorrow, and see what they want for a EBCM.

Spazzz, do you think it could just be the wiring or could it be the new hub or EBCM?

For the fronts, the plug on the vehicle side is problematic. Could be the same for the rears?

well the obvious choice is to jack it up ...high.... peel back the wire loom to inspect the wiring. You already know what the fronts looked like, so why would the rears be any different.

Start with that. The hub shouldnt be it when right out of the chute nothing changed.

Me....I would have used the best hub out there. Even though everyone is a somewhat gamble for longevity. But I would say the SFK,Timken and Delcos might fair better than a 50 dollar special.

Then I would replace the Harness anyway because 2004 GP in WI winters. Thennnnnn if I still had to deal, I would send the ABS module in.
That's about the best I can do.

    Read this.
