Hey guys it might just be normal I'm not sure because ever since I've had the car it's been like this but my steering has about an inch of playing meaning it takes an inch before the steering wheel actually does anything. I know I need to replace my lca (not sure if that can even cause it) I checked the tie rods and they look good. Also occasionly if I'm on an incline or decline and I'm turning I'll get a small popping feeling. Thanks for your help

Could be the intermediate steering shaft.

Are you sure your inner and outer tie rods are good? Thats always been the major cause of my loose steering. I am a noob so who knows. Mr. Lee above always thinks everything is related to the intermediate steering shaft (just busting your balls sir)

jack a front wheel up, then push and pull at 3 o clock on the wheel, feeling for play.

Will do. I posted pics of the tie rods. I think they look normal but idk I'm a pretty big noob when it comes to suspension items.

you cant tell by "looking" at them, you need to push and pull on them. if shot you'll feel a click and play.

you can also put your hand on the tire, reach in and crank on the wheel left and right you'll feel a click in the tire too when you rock the steering wheel back and fourth if somethings wrong.

My car had the same symptoms. All tie rod ends were good. But the control arm bushings were bad. Most local tire repair shops will diagnose and give you a free estimate. They'll probably find bad LCAs.

Ya I can see the bushings in my lcas are worn. Next paycheck I'll be picking some up, even if it doesn't fix the problem it is a problem that needs fixing haha.

Off topic does anyone have the poly dogbone motor mounts and bushings if so are they worth the $ I just replaced my lower mounts less then a year ago with oem so I'll probably never go through all the work to swap those with polys, unless they fail prematurely.

The play in my steering was solved with a refurbished rack and pinion. I was getting a clunk in the steering when I would shimmy the wheel at a stop. Also it would wander a bit on the highway.
