I recently installed wbs rear lateral arms in my 01 gtp. I then went to go and get the rear realigned. As i was comming home I heard a slight faint creaking/clunking sound comming from the back of the car. When i got home i pulled the car in the garage and put the rear up on ramps and started looking around. I then noticed that on the passenger side my swaybar(gmpp bar) is rubbing against the inside of the strut(kyb). Anybody else ever have the problem?

Find a different shop to get it aligned.

    Sure it was installed correctly?

I've installed multiple sways...front and rear...

    Never had a rubbing issue.

Yup, everythings tightened down and bolted up right. Ive done a few swaybars myself and im kind of puzzled. Doubled checked the lateral arms.

Sounds like you need to install sway bar lateral locks. I bet the driver side is really far away from the strut and the entire sway bar shifted to one side.

Eh, the driverside looks pretty normal to me, not to mention that the swaybar has stoppers(or nubs) where the bushings go to prevent the swaybar from shifting.

Update. Got the rear alignment done again and it helped slightly. I think I might go the route of using the lateral locks gtpnovak was talking about. My question with those is will it have any negetive effect on handling? For instance, if i were to put a lock on just the side thats rubbing?

You say there is little nubs or stoppers already, i am not sure the lateral locks will help if those nubs are functioning correctly.

FIXED. So i got my hands on a pair of swaybar lateral locks, put the rear of the car on ramps this morning and loosened up the swaybar bushing clamps. Using a small prybar between the swaybar and the strut I gently shifted the swaybar and had just enough room to put one of the locks between the existing nub and the bushing. Not only did it stop the rubbing, but now my swaybar is evened out on Both sides. Problem solved.
