So my abs light and trac off light are now constantly on and the scanner that I bought do not read abs codes. So I decided to take it to o reillys cause its right down the street and I know them there and their scanner reads all GM codes. So we hook it up to read the codes and he's telling me that its not even picking up the abs unit in the car?? Got me puzzled there. Has anyone else had this issue where the scanner does t even pick up that you have an abs module? Is the module bad, therefore its not reading it? Checked fuses and havnt found any of them bad. . .

    Any input would be appreciated......

Sounds like there "scanner reads all GM codes" may not read ABS codes.

Agreed. I had to find a shop with a Snap-on scanner. Cost $35 to plug it in.

So there would be no reason why its not picking up the abs module?

There could be reasons, but not likely. If you get the same result with a scanner that does ABS codes, then consider the module.

No. The ABS may try and cycle while you are braking, but if it isn't or hasn't, drive on.

When the abs and Trac lights are on they abs system is off it won't do anything.

Go to a shop and have them read it like the others said.

I am having the same issue, my scanner, a Innova 3150e, which does read ABS and SRS codes on the Grand Prix, is not able to connect to the ABS module. I tested the 3150e on a F-350, and it did in fact read the ABS data.

I will start search for a bad connection or a blown fuse, any thought on why my ABS compatible scanner will not connect to a 2006 GP will be very appreciated.

Just went out and checked the ABS fuse(s), visual inspection they look fine. Ran the scanner again, the error is U1040 " Loss of Class 2 Communications with ABS".
