if you pop the strut free scribe along the edge of it so you get it back where it was or your alignment can be off some. why most pop the ball joint. it wont affect the alignment.

Guys I'm gonna sound like an idiot but I seriously cannot figure this out. I took off the brake and I can't get it back on. It's too tight to fit on the rotor. Is there a way to open it??

We'll see what happens with the grease after a week of driving. Hopefully I won't have to replace the whole axel

Sadly....Bill wrote a how to on this and it's in the how to section.

Total overkill taking the brakes off.

    I'll paraphrase
Remove wheel, axle nut and free axle from bearing.
Pop ball joint, pop axle from trans (post about how the output shaft of trans came out with it lol)
Slide new one in and tada
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

^^^he is right. Remember this because fixing boots is rarely a long term fix. Good luck.

AC delco if you want to pay that price, even used take outs from the junkyard that aren't damaged are great.

Otherwise I've installed atleast 5-6 CV axles in my personal cars/family cars and never had a problem with the NAPA brand. The prices are great and so is the warranty on the new axles.
