Ok what does everyone use for front wheel bearings? I have been through two sets in the last two years. First set was Raybestos and then the second was Moog. The Moogs have recently started growling. I am going to get them warrantied. However any one else's car eat the front bearings? The moogs have lasted longer than the Raybestos. Figure 20k miles per set, not impressed.

Yes, I have been talking to a couple others and going to try a different approach on them.

I went with SKF, and they've been through hell and back. lol only 6k on them but 2 trips over the ocean and a busted CV joint, still going strong.

I've had Moogs in the front of my car, and one rear for 2.5 years with no issues on the front ones. The rear bearing did fail, but was replaced under warranty last year sometime and has been problem free since.

On my first front wheel bearing replacement, I used SKF. Both bearings were replaced. Three years later, left front growling, replace with SKF. One year later, right front growling, replace with Delco. One year later, right front setting ABS light. Replace with Delco; this one was my fault for pinching the wire.

I don't get why these cars eat bearings. I had my Bronco for 15 years and not once did I change a wheel bearing. Must be a GM thing. LOL

Moog bearings for me... I've bought 4 fronts across a couple different cars, and they've held up without issue. Plus available at advance auto with discount codes.

I go with timken and only have to do it once. Using the parts store ones made in China I went through them once a month.

My SFK's were made in Korea, and Delco's made in China.

seems like too loose or too tight and you just mess them up after you drive on them. they gotta be just right.

Oh, I agree with you. I just wanted to point out to Swigs that Timken was also made in China after his post.

Timkin on the GP...fronts have 100,000 miles since the replacement and the timkin rears have about 80,000 miles and still going strong. You must torque them correctly! Do not use any cheaply priced wheel bearing hubs..they will fail and often quickly. Timkin, Moog, SKf bearings are generally 2-3X the price of the cheap ones.

On my Chrysler 300, I recently replaced the fronts with SKF bearings....good so far! SKF says 100,000+ miles life expectancy but they were $100 each!

You must use a torque wrench with the correct setting for your car.
