I have an '04 GT1 and I recently bought a dash cam. I'm currently manually [un]plugging the power adapter from the cigarette lighter adapter every time I turn the car on or off, but I'm worried that the power adapter will wear out or something like that. Is it possible to rewire (or do something) so that the front cigarette lighter adapter loses power when the car is off? This would cause my dash cam to turn off automatically, which would be ideal. I'm also open to some sort of switch that I could just switch on and off, but things like this are a little intimidating for me; I have no idea how I would connect things.

(As a side note if anyone knows--the dash cam can be 1080p at 30fps or 720p at 60fps. I imagine the higher resolution is a better choice than more fps, but if anyone has any input it'd be appreciated.)

Be worried. LOL I did the same thing with mine and the wires broke after a 6 weeks.

Like Goober said, best to wire the camera to the fuse box.

Yes, 1080P is the better setting.

I have an '02, but here is my dash cam page for how I wired my camera..... http://chrisb.users.superford.org/Gr...ra/Camera.html
