Hi everyone, let me start by saying that I'm usually strictly a pioneer guy, but my last one took a hard dump on me so I'm looking for a new stereo. I'm looking at a Power Acoustik PD 710B. I know the name sounds cheap but I've read a lot of reviews and watched a few videos and everyone seems to love it so far. It has a lot of nice features and the sound specs are about the same as my last pioneer, and that sounded freaking awesome. Anyhow I'm looking at this listing on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/171824317298...2.M1105.R1.TR2
It ends soon so I need an answer quick. They usually retail for about $150 and this one is still stuck at $70, I thought I might swoop in and take it for that price, but I'm not sure how functional it'll be in my 2000 GP. I'm sure it would cover up the HVAC, but the face is removable, so what does everyone think? Yay or nay? Also I'm getting a sub and amp installed very soon, not sure the specs my dad has them laying around and said I could have them and he would but the in, I know they are MTX brand but that's it. Would this head unit handle that? Thanks for the help?

Reviews of it seem pretty decent, and besides its only $70.

My opinion is you don't cheap out on headunits. Cheap ones are cheap for a reason.

Well honestly there were only 2 things that really got me interested in this one. One was the price, and the other was the blutooth. If not this radio I was actually looking at a pioneer DEHX7600HD http://www.ebay.com/myb/WatchList?_t...72.m2034.l3387

You linked to your watch list.

And you mention price. In my opinion, for a single DIN headunit I usually don't even look at anything less than $200. For ones with a screen you should probably be looking at the $400 range minimum.

Also, I'm not out to win a competion, just looking for something that sounds pretty clean and will thump once in awhile, lol.

It's not about winning competitions. I have bought 3 headunits ever. The first one was a cheap one and it lasted 3 months. The second one was a $200 one and it lasted 8 years. The 3rd one I had for a few years until I parked my Stealth and I pulled it.

You don't have to spend $200 to get a CD player that will last awhile.. There's plenty of pioneer HU for example for under then that and will probably achieve what you want out of it. Now if your talking something with a screen $200 won't do it.

Hey there thanks for all the help. I like the one you linked, I may consider that, but I really think I'm stuck on the DEHX7600HD. I think they're about the same thing but the 7600 has HD radio.

I hate radio's that block the vents or HVAC.

I got a JVC KD-A815 when I got the car. Paid around $225 for it; iPad/Pod/Phone ready, bluetooth, dual USB etc.....

there... You won't find much better than that! Still a lil pricey even after all the time it's been on market... Tells ya something! Back it up with some nice Boston Acoustics separates, 4ways in the rear, and a nice amp, like Kicker IX series... And WHOOLA! Awesome clean, clear unbelievable sound! You don't have to sell the house... But you have to dig a little if you want good audio! It all just depends what you want. But cheap is cheap!

I was just linking that one as a example since it's cheap and will do the job for most people. Been eyeing it myself just a somewhat cheap/effective one that will hold me over until I splurge on the new DD that I want since I sold my old one and I don't listen to the radio so HD radio I give no cares about lol

lol I don't really listen to the radio that much either but I like the option. I finally decided on a DEH X5600HD. I think it is similar to the link you sent me and the price was about the same as well(for the one I bought anyway). This is the exact one I purchased http://www.ebay.com/itm/231596948535...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT It is used and did not include the remote, manual or harness, but it looked to be in good shape so I jumped on it. They usually go for around $100 everywhere else so I think I did fair. The harness was only $3 so no biggie. I'm sort of wondering if the remote from my 2400UB will work on this one? Either way I don't really care, I'll never use the remote. Thanks for everyone's help!

Well good news. I got the radio in the mail yesterday! I decided to see if my harness would work on it, and it was a direct fit! So I had to do absolutely no wiring. It was complete plug an play!. Also the remote from my 2400UB did work on it. Anyhow, the radio is pretty nice. It has a lot of settings and it sounds great

Ok I know this has been dead for a couple of weeks but I have another question. So The radio I bought has been doing great, it's really nice, yada yada. Anyhow today I had my phone hooked up with the aux cord and it started cutting out so I figured my cord was a little loose as it has been before, so I started to push it in and at that exact moment I received a phone call. So I figured maybe that had something to do with it cutting out. Anyhow after the phone call I could not get it to work. There was just no sound at all. I tried CD, Radio, and Aux. No sound! o detached the faceplate and re attached it, and it worked again. Until I was almost home, It stopped again. Then I noticed that I could press in on the detach button but hold the faceplate in place and it would work fine. Then I got to the last 1/4 mile which is all potholes occasionally it would work on it own again. So obviously, I would think it was short. But I don't understand why it would work when I held in on the button, and I don't understand why after a couple of weeks with absolutely no issues, it suddenly starts shorting out. Also when I pulled in to my driveway I angrily smacked the dash an it started working, Leading towards the short again. I can not go without a radio again like was previously.
