powerbastards alts.I have one 220+ w. I am running 2400w.Works for me.
Will i even need a new alt or would 2 batteries do?
Try with what you have now and see how it goes. But the ALT. would be the way to go.
What is your total RMS?
For the amp or the sub4400W RMS 2-Channel High Current Amplifier • 4400W RMS x 1 @ 1 Ohm Bridged • 2200W RMS x 2 @ 0.5 Ohm Stereo • 1400W RMS x 2 @ 1 Ohm Stereo • 1400W RMS x 2 @ 1 Ohm Stereo • 800W RMS x 2 @ 2 Ohms Stereo • 500W RMS x 2 @ 4 Ohms Stereo
The sub is 1250 rms
4400w rms is a continuous draw of 314 amps at 14V, chances are that the normal current draw will be in the 50 amp range with short bursts of over 150 under normal 20 something listening habits. (Not taking into account losses from the amp)
That at said if you do a lot of freeway driving then a second battery is the way to go. If you just drive here and there on short trips then batteries and alternator.
i have run 1500 watts rms (class A and an A/B) with a 63 amp alternator and when I did at least a 40 mile drive a day everything was fine but on Friday and Saturday night I would ride with my friends down the strip and the normal kid route and set off car alarms at the movie theater and crap like that. I would come out on Sunday to a dead battery. Happened 3 weeks in a row so I added a second battery and a PAC 80 amp relay instead of an isolator and never had another problem.
Jeff
whatever your amps fuses are you will never draw above that safely so go from there.
Sure just go with that.
It wont be running at 4400 full tilt I only have one sub right now that ill probably hook up at 1400w but it could probably handle 2200w at .5 ohm im just scared for my electrical
An xtra battery for sure along with the big 3 in 1/0...
go with welding cable also. it's great copper wire and priced nicely!!
temco, royal excelene or eb flex brands
I did big three a semi battery and a 1.5 farad capacitor. I run the 2k watt amp and power inverter off the battery
The caps are a waste of money....let me say that again WASTE OF MONEY!!!
