Ok I went to put some more speakers in the gp I just got, realized it had four speakers,2 baby ones work but 2 big ones did not so I took my speakers out of the other gtp and got it all straightened out and the newer speakers had a female end and on the 98 had a male and the 2 baby ones were female but that's not the issue, the wires for the big speakers do not work, I've tried different speakers hooked up to it so I tied the big speakers in on the baby ones, they work but are cracked but anyways why did those wires stop working?

Got a break or short somewhere. I wouldn't even bother, I took all 4 of mine out. music doesnt really need a rear stage so much as it needs a good front stage.

im no radio expert, but what stereo system your car has would be a huge help.

At least I have input off the baby ones so I used those lines and tied them all together but that's odd that they don't work

Depending on what impedance ur spkrs are, you might be dropping to un unstable load for the HU if ur bridging them. If the 4" work, just run those leads to the 5x7's.

sounds like the rear channel blew out. id look for a stock replacement see how that goes. maybe take the other radio you got and swap that in.

you could take the radio out and see if you can smell anything burnt.

Prixer97 I ran the wires off the little ones to the 6x9 and scottydoggs I'm going to a stock cd player in it since I like the stock look and adding a input for a 3.5 mm stuff, I want to find decent speakers for front and back

you may be able to swap the whole face plate. if they are both the same model radios.

idk man. maybe take the bulb socket form the other radio lol steal parts from both to make one work lol

ive done it with a ford radio. the good radio had busted buttons. i took a face plate off another radio. and made it work really.

I really do not know how anyone can say rear speakers make no difference. Maybe in a low end system where the wind noise going down the highway is enough to flood them out.....maybe, but, I have never had a system that I could not tell the rear speakers were there. I have blown 1 rear speaker and it bugged the piss out of me. It really fills the sound up.
