My GP has the factory Bose system in it, I have always been impressed with a factory Pontiac system especially compared to a Chevys. The Bose is actually even better in this car then in my dads 07 NNBS Silverado. How much will I lose by installing an aftermarket head unit, or will the bass, mids and highs still be decent?

If you connect an aftermarket HU directly to the factory wiring, you need to power the amp to get any sound. At that point the amp will be working and likely you will enjoy the new HU as it'll retain the amp.

Ok simple enough, where is the amp located at? So I just need to wire an on/off switch then?

Last question on this, being that aftermarket unit has power built in do I risk burning up that factory Bose amp by sending more power through the speaker wires that would be routed to the amp?

So just hook the remote turn on lead to pin #7? Will this same thing work in other bose equipped vehicles?

    Sent from my mobile office.
