I got a led strip for my trunk in my 04 gt because the regular bulb wasn't very bright. After I cut the wire and spliced it the led strip is on but it's not bright at all. It looks to be about 25% I grabbed another strip I had laying around and I tried it and same thing... What's going in here

Check your grounds, make sure they're in unpainted surfaces.

Sure does sound like a bad ground. Had the same problem when I first installed mine.

I just tapped into the wiring at the stock light. I had an issue with the wiring at the trunk release on the lid; I could wiggle the plug and make the trunk light go on/off/dim. I snugged up the terminals in the plug (fixing the bad ground), and it has worked fine for over two years.

Yea me to I just snipped and spliced the wire going into the stock bulb... So I have to mess with the truck opening? Sorry I'm a little confused

Possibly. I had to, but I couldn't find any info on the matter so it may not be a "common issue".

The BCM turns on the light when the trunk latch is opened; I believe the wires are red/black for the trunk light at the latch. Wiggle the plug to see if your light changes.

If it does, there is your problem.

If it doesn't, you have more work to do.
