My '97 GT has a fried subwoofer amp. I am looking for a low budget fix, to go with a new set of speakers already purchased. 4" were blown, 6x9's destroyed while removing the rear parcel shelf. Not a real audio fanatic.....just want to get the sound system "POP" back. I am down to 2 speakers from the original 8.

Buy 4 used speakers (I prefer pioneers)
Buy a decent used deck (Again pioneer)
    Rewire to the new speakers.
    Done.....

Another vote for this. If you're up for the extra hassle, adding even a cheap 50x4 rms 4 channel amplifier will get you some more benefit. Again, Craigslist is your friend.
