For some reason the radio will load a burned CD like any other but will not play it and won't display an Error message. The same radio takes other burned CD's I have made in an audio format but not all. The radio seems to make a clicking noise like it want's to load but won't play any audio, just shows the Track 1. Anyone have these problems? I have never seen anything like it.

Burned CD's are not as uniform as commercial silver cd's. Some brands are more reliable than others, some brands work better with certain burners. It takes some trial and error. If the laser in your car's cd player is getting a bit weak, it may read commercial CD's better than CD-R. If the problem gets worse you will have to replace your head unit.

Makes sense. Today I finally got an error when I put one in and it read on the radio as "E 23".

E 23= Communications Error Cause(*): There is a vehicle/radio communication problem or an internal radio communication problem. Correction(*): Disconnect battery voltage to the radio and then reconnect after a few minutes. If there is still an error, send the unit to an ACDelco® repair center

So I could just disconnect the positive battery terminal for a few minutes on the battery lead?

It would be worth a shot, disconnecting the battery has resolved one or two issues in my 05.

I've always had good luck with Memorex CD-R's, and one trick I learned if your burning software has the option, is to finalize the CD once you're done burning. You can't add songs later obviously, but it seemed to make the CD's play in more devices.

Are you burning audio CD's or MP3 CD's? I'm almost certain it's either a formatting error or maybe the brand you're using. Abc up there makes a very good point, some CD's sold for home use and burning are just not within the tolerances of all players.

Worse come to worst, aftermarket head unit? ;D

Yeah iTunes always finalizes the cd's and I'm doing audio format cause the stock doesn't support MP3. I mean worst come to worst, I'll save up a bit and do an aftermarket head unit
