I put in an aftermarket stereo with USB and SD slots. I used the "Metra" brand adapter harness with door chimes to keep everything working right. The clock and date don't appear on the HUD anymore, but the aftermarket radio has the time on it.

The original radio has been sitting around for a few months and I'll be happy to sell it cheap. If you're interested make me an offer by PM or posting here. It's listed on Chicago area Craigslist with the link below.

Researching before making your purchase would show that hud information loss with a radio swap is a known issue.

Actually it doesn't have a HUD, I meant the small info display on the dash. Losing the date is no sweat to me. To each his own.

There are so many choices for aftermarket stereos. Ordinary AM/FM or Satelite or even HD radio? cd/mp3/usb/sd etc., Ipod control, single din or double, lcd display color and on and on. I decided against a double-din because I figure the big display would just be one more distraction while I drive. The unit I got (Dual) has a blue display which makes the dash lights look real patriotic against all the red. I toyed with getting changeable colors but decided not worth it. The Dual unit has about twice the power of the factory radio (18 watts x 4 vs 9 watts) and I like that I can put in 2000 mp3's on an SD card and listen for days without repeating a song.
