Still works on my 04compG as well and actually sounds alot better than the stock head unit.

Depends on what your trying to do.. I don't think it's really nessesary to run new wire to each speaker because in your case they are all at the monsoon plug and installing a 4ch amp would be a puff. It is more difficult then just running new wires because your looking at a wiring diagram to tell you wiring colors for each speaker on the amp plug instead of your purchased wire so that's up to you. I can post a link of your monsoon's wiring diagram if you'd like it.

Gm0S04 = must be used on 04-08 with monsoon if you want to use the factory amp. It's provides data to turn on the monsoon amp. You will also retain onstar and chime and center speaker. Also has accessory wire for aftermarket unit that functions as RAP. Usually has the vss, reverse and parking brake wire through data for easy install of a double din with nav for example.

Gm0S01 = for non monsoon vehicles. You will retain onstar and chime. Also has accessory wire for aftermarket unit. Usually has the vss, reverse and parking brake wire through data for easy install of a double din nav for example.

No module / without monsoon = must use wire harness Metra 70-2003. You will lose onstar and chime function. Accessory power can easily be tapped into. Right side of dash fuse box has a thick yellow wire that will function as RAP for your aftermarket radio.

No module / with monsoon =
(04 only) use Metra 70-2003 harness no amp bypass needed. Verify this by pulling out the stock radio. Turn ignition on. If you hear the quiet hiss of the amp through your speakers your all set. Accessory power can be tapped into right side of dash fuse box has a thick yellow wire that will act as RAP for your aftermarket radio.

(05-08) must use gmos04 unless bypassing amp at monsoon amp plug. Harness 70-2003 will require the loss of the center speaker unless tied into a left or right front channel. Tweeters will also have to be tied into front channels or aftermarket 6.5" component set recommended. A 4-ch amp can be wired in at the amp plug Instead of just bypassing the amp. Of course new wires can be ran from the radio or amp as well.

I used the Gmos-01 in my 06Gt, bypassed Monsoon amp installed Alpine amp with all Polk Audio speakers all around. then wired center speaker(on Dash) to left front output of GMOS-01 to play chimes thru speaker and not the thru the amp and speakers.

simbah and perry lets say I buy the gmos 04 or gmos 01 I don't want to use the monsoon being that I have a 5 channel amp and also bought an after market head unit with Bluetooth I want to change out all my door speakers and put 6.5 crescendos I already bought them in the rear im taking out my 6 vy 9s and adapting them to 6.5 as well I want to run all new speaker wire since im using my massive audio nx5 amp can this be donw using either the cheap wire harness or do I need the gmos 04 or gmos 01 that's what I want to know I have no intentions using the factory monsoon being the fact I don't like how they have the whole car wired for audio eventually on my fifth channel I will add a ten inch sub

If you are not going to use the Monsoon amp the the GMOS-01 is the harness you would want to use, unless you don't want the chimes then the Metra harness should work for you, but remember without chimes it might be easier to lock keys in car or leave headlights on and drain battery or even run out of gas, as all of these have chimes to remind you of these things.

    Just some thoughts

Headlights should turn on automatically so I'm not really sure how many people purposely turn them on. But they would shut off after 15min with ignition off.

Interior lights would also shut off after 15 minutes.

But yup no more key in Ignition chime, although I believe the car won't lock the doors with the key inserted in the ignition and drivers door open. So it would take some effort to lock yourself out.

And as far as the low fuel chime.. I get 3 indicators. (cluster, dic, hud) I've never had an issue without it but then again I rarely have less than half a tank it's really just personal preference many ways to do it.

You have to run a wire to the fuse box for power if you want to retain RAP. That way the radio will stay on until you open the door. On my 04 it in the top left corner of the fuse box. Just do a search for Retained Accessory Power(RAP). You should be able to find a photo.

There are 2 thick yellow wires that act as rap in the passenger fuse box. Clear as day. Hook your red from your radio to that. Youll have to extend it obviously.

You said you have no sound.. Since you used the cheap metro harness you bypassed the amp or ran wires to each speaker correct?

Well you said in the first post you were going to run new speaker wires. The cheap harness won't work for you in an 05 unless you bypass the amp at its plug or run new speaker wires.

I don't know why anyone would run any other adapter than the Gmos if u have a 04+ it would have just been plug and play

Well in 05+ you would only do it that way if you didn't plan on using the factory amp which is what he said he was doing.
