Needless to say this makes visibility on the left half of the window impossible at night. Ideas to make these dimmer? I was thinking window tint?

Hook up some sort of rheostat to dim the gauges.

When I had my TSI with all the extra gauges I actually hooked it to the factory dimmer so I could increase or decrease brightness with the factory switch.

I don't want to dim the factory lights, just these gauges. I'll look for a dimmer unit.

The second sentence was just kind of an add on and a little rambling. Just go with my first sentence.

Heh sorry, "visibility" (Dam predict text) I always wonder how easy it is to see the HUD when you have a pillar pod kind near it

It cuts off a bit of the left side of the volt gauge. That's why I put the least important gauge there.

I think the dimmer switch would probably be the better option.

Change out the bulbs in the gauges if possible. I installed red 194's in mine, not too bright and they blend in with the red lighting in the factory gauges.

I actually had a buddy give me a piece of tint for a gauge I had. It was made for doing headlights on high end cars etc.

Since you know the answer..why you asking the question?

I didn't think of a dimmer when I asked the question bill. Someone suggested that over the tint. I like that option best. What % tint did you use though?

You could put a resistor across the power leads if you don't want to go the dimmer route. You'll need to know how much the amperage draw is regardless.

If they're LED illumination, they might not dim very well.
