I am redoing the whole sound stage in my car minus subs. Have the car tore apart right now and will be starting with the amp first thing in the am. My first thought is the mid top trunk where there is a cut out from the trunk to cab on the rear ledge. Not sure if the opening serves any real purpose though so not sure if placing an amp over it will affect anything. Any other suggestions are well appreciated.

Side note: Bought a 9" 4 channel Monster RCA cable off of amazon while buying up my supplies. This will be too short to reach to the above location. If anyone knows a spot closer to the HU let me know.

    Amp is an Alpine PDX-F4

Why not just mount the amp on the fold down section of the rear seat?

Seems like a poor choice as the wires have little to attach to and its a moving part

Just put enough slack in the wires so if you do have to put the seat down there's enough to move freely.

Excellent choice! That's where the Monsoon amp from the factory mounts.

I placed mine under the rear deck but the heat sink was designed so that orientation wasn't an issue.
