    Looks tempting. Looks... Interesting.

Help me bass wizards. My 6X9s are great, but they can't put out the LOW low notes.

OH, and how much power can I realistically sap from Penny's electrical system. My current amp is an old 4 channel Kenwood that has about 80 watts RMS per channel. I know all the formulas and stuff but I wanna know what you guys have installed and what has worked without adverse side effects.

That it does. But my budget is stupid low. How about this?

300W Rockford Fosgate PRIME Sub + Kenwood KAC-1502S Amp + Kit

Looks more promising. I have a tiny old box for a 10. Will hold me through till I can buy something better. Only thing that bothers me is no gain knob I can put up front by me anywhere.

i got a used Memphis amp, ( from a friend) its 500 watts, 2 ch. and a 12 inch 1200 watt kenwood woofer in a sealed box. its hooked up to the stock HU and i have the amp turned to 1/2 power to match the radio. it hits pretty damn good. if i turn the amp up any more the whole car rattles.

one of these days ill take a pic of this stuff in the car.

Finally gets a listen in my car and says can you do that for me. UHm yeah give me lots of $$$. So realistcly do you wanna have some thump or you wanna be loud?

Eh, I'm not looking to have show stopping loud ass bass that everyone around me can hear. I'm just looking to fill in the rest of my sound spectrum. A little bump wouldn't hurt though. Hehehehe.

thats what the 500 watt amp did and the 12 inch i used. its fills in the sound. give is a nice bump that still makes the side view mirrors vibrate. and you feel it in the drivers seat and floor. i added new speakers all around to the stock HU, and i cant hear myself singing any more. its just enough for me.

the part i like the most is if i turn it up as loud as it can go clearly that is, ( just past the 1/2 way mark) then walk 20 feet from the car, its sounds good, unlike some cars where all you hear is the cars body rattling and distortion. we all know what sounds good inside, dont always sound good outside the car.

    Ugh I hate kenwood

I have to admit, my 2 10" compvr kickers and my 1000.1 kicker amp is a little bit too much. I could of saved a lot of money for how load I actually listen to them. My amp came with a remote/bass knob, I normally leave it at 2 (it goes up to 11) unless I want to vibrate out of my seat.

i can turn my all the way up and walk away, only thing you hear is a bit from the sunroof slapping, but if i open a door it gets loud. But then again all the deadner in the car helps that and make sit sound a whole lot better in the process.

if you want a system go with a 15 ported, or in a band-pass box. hits lows like a champ. 1500 watt sub+amp pair or more. go with a digital amp they regulate power to the woofer better if you spend the cash, no use for capacitors now

Majority of music only goes down to 40hz. When I say "majority of music" I really mean MAJORITY. That includes whatever "what if" genres you can name. Play static noise or test CD's that help you identify fundamentals and you'll know what I mean. If you're all about anything below 40hz, luckily, your vehicle gain helps a lot. But it can also help to muddy up the sound. Getting that tight "kick in the chest" bass is nice and what most people want and that's not "deep bass".
    11 is louder than 10!
