Since a double din will require minor surgery on my dash, I was thinking of maybe getting this radio instead. 7 Inch 1Din Car DVD Player with GPS Bluetooth TV RDS - USD $ 229.98 I know I would still need the steering wheel interface, and the "allow all the beeps and ding dongs" harness, but this seems like it would solve a few problems.

Do you have a 97-03 GP? If so then there is no harness for beeps and ding dongs. Looks pretty legit but I would try and find some reviews on it and find out who makes it. Most of the reviews on that site look like fakes or are in Spanish French or Russian from the looks of things.

I have a 2003 GTP Limited Edition with the Bose system. I thought I required a special adapter for the beeps? I know I need an adaptor to use the steering wheel controls.

Guaranteed junk. In order to get a QUALITY 7" screen DVD, bluetooth, etc, you are going to spend upwards of $500. For $229 you are going to get something that will be lucky to last 6 months.

And I wouldn't trust Jensen as far as I can throw it. I am can throw one pretty damn far.

Oh, and for reference, I paid $229 for my single din non DVD Alpine. That's only middle of the road for them.

You can hook an Ipod up to a single din Alpine. In fact mine even came with an Ipod integration cable.

Do you not mean this: PAC OS1-BOSE (os1bose) OnStar Interface with Bose OS1 BOSE, When I checked out the one you mentioned, it said it did not fit my vehicle application. I guess I should have mentioned that I have NO onstar, but I DO have the Bose system. The reason I like the deck I initially mentioned, is that the screen folds DOWN, and doesn't block anything. If I get one where the screen folds UP, it blocks the vents.

    pioneer double din at Crutchfield.com
I'd order a pioneer from crutchfield n look up a coupon code from retailmenot. Usually you can get a $25 off from there.

I would pass on off brand HU. Spend the extra money and wait if you need to for something with quality like a Alpine, Pioneeer etc

When you factor in using features like your iphone or droid for music or using Bluetooth its hard to have a knockoff HU accomplish those things smoothly. Even a lower brand like Jensen for example may not be able to do that.

Years ago I bought a Jensen believe I paid around $500 or so....got it installed. Hooked up my iPod and played some music. As I switched tracks there would be a delay of around 5 seconds. It pissed me off so bad not even having it a week I ripped it out and sold it and bought a pioneer and couldn't be happier. Of course I've upgraded the model a few times but not complaints from me.

uhm i had that exact one in my GTP, i had no issues through out the deal. I custom fabbed a mount though. The screen will hang down over your climate controls. I got one alot cheaper than that though. i spent 100 bones and got what i paid for so it gonna be in what you need or wanting. you some basic music listener it will work fine. you want options galore prolly not.

EDIT: There made By ouku if that means anything lol
