Curious, if I bypass the GMOS for the speaker hook up and go right of the HU harness, will the chime still function?

In your opinion, should I hook up and tuck the RCA wires away behind the dash for future use?

You know i was just wondering about that. Im really not sure, but i suppose you have the gmos-1 so wire them from out of the box cus it seems thats how to chime signal is sent to the speakers now that im thinking back to wiring mine. And idk what your talking about for rcas. What rcas do you have behind there?

At the moment, I don't have any RCA's plugged into the HU but if I already have it out of the dash to rewire the speakers maybe it might be a good idea to plug some cables into the back of the HU in case i want to add on later and just tuck the cables out of sight until I decide to make use of them. Thoughts?

The purpose of wiring speaker wire through the GMOS is to retain the chime function. I have a gmos 100 that skips that entirely. It was adding a hiss to my speakers. If you don't care about retaining any chimes then bypass it. The reason power goes through it is because it allows the vehicle to identify the radio as a RAP device so it powers on and off with all the other accessory items.
