Im planning on installing a new headunit into my GXP. I have the monsoon system, Ive done some research and I know ill loose the date & day function in the DIC which im fine with. I just want to double check and make sure this is the only harness I need to complete the install of my headunit. Thanks for the input. I did search and found info but everything is scattered and just want to double check. Also in the description part from the seller it says "These harnesses will not work with Premium Amplified Systems, or bose systems" does this included the monsoon. If this isnt the right harness can someone post a link to the correct one please. Thanks again.

The harness you have noted will not work with the Monsoon system, as it has an amplifier that is separate from the Head unit. The harness you are looking for is the GMOS-04

Amazon.com: Axxess GMOS-04 Class II OnStarĀ® Interface for Amplified Systems: Car Electronics

this will retain all the chimes for your vehicle, and work with the external Monsoon amp.

I can't remember which harness it is but there is one that retains all factory chimes and xm and OnStar. It also doesn't cause the date and time to be lost. I had it in my older gp I used to have.
