Found a working climate control at a yard and plugged it in and it did the same thing... So it's gotta be a vaccum leak right?

you ever pull the vac lines off the vac actuators in the dash to see if they suck or not? id test that. and you can try to move the arm off the vac actuator (moving this arm should change the flow of air) as well as see if they move on their own when you change the settings, also see if the vac line sucks as you change the settings.
if all that moves on its own, then the end of the rod may have broken off. you'll need to test both sides, you cant just look at the pass side, i know its easy but theres 2 of them, if ones broke, like in gregbadass's car, iirc his was stuck on a mix of defrost and vent, and the plastic arm was broke off near the top of the hvac box. they did rig a repair.
even when changing the setting from defrost, vent and floor? it should suck for some and not for the other.
if nothing you need to trace the vac line off the top of the sc, all the way around the engine bay and look for a leak or break.
I traced the line until it goes into the plastic surround ****... I saw setting that said there's supposed to be a t on that line going over to the driver side of the engine bay is that true?
i knew id find one in one of Bills posts. so glad he takes pics of stuff. vac ball under the head light in the fender/bumper cover.

Ya That ball on the drivers side in the picture is non existant in my car... i guess that explains why its not working like it should. Where does the vaccum line from that ball go to? i guess ill be taking a trip to the junk yard in the near future
from what i got from the other thread posted, that guy also had no ball there. and said he hooked the line up to another line that went into the cab, then it all worked.
were you able to follow that vac line to the d/s fender? if so did it just end there open ended?
its the one that comes off the sc, then leads to the pass side fire wall, then down to the battery, then across the rad, to the ball. where it goes from the ball i have no idea.
Mine just goes to the firewall then down by the battery then into the plastic tubing surrounding the wiring that goes in through the firewall... nothing goes across from that line
ok i have done all of my vac line tracing and everything is ok... ive tried a different control unit and it did the same thing, and now i notice that when my heat/air is off i hear what sounds like the actuator on the passenger side moving in and out.. im so confused at this point should i just buy new actuators?
I have a similar problem with mine. AC comes out cold on one side and not the other. I'm assuming that it is the blend door. Could i put in a regular duel climate control with out the temp reading and will it work?
did you ever take the panels off to see if the vac pumps move, or if you move the lever if the air flow changes? the plastic are could be broken on top of the hvac box, where the linkage leads to.
clicking could be a blend door actuator, but that only affects hot or cold air. once all the panels are off, if you hear the clicking, you can reach in and touch the actuator, you should feel it clicking if its making the sounds.
ok i finally got around to taking my dash apart... the pass side actuator is the culprit for the squeaking noise it sounds like its trying to go in and out but the arm doesnt move an inch...
maybe its dead? have you tried to move the arm yourself yet? or pull the line off it to check for vacuum of some sort? at least the pass side is easier to work on.
was that you texting me a night ago or so? i was out and had no clue who was texting me, or what the pic was of. lol sorry i was unable to get back to you if it was you. sounds like it now looking back.....
