I got a new multifunction switch from the junkyard but ended up having to cut the wiring because I couldn't figure out how to unplug it from the harness.
    Thanks!

Cut the wiring in your car since you'll now have to solder it either way.

it bolts to a block under the dash, comes out with the ignition harness. like a 8mm bolt in the middle of the plug.

But the ONLY benefit to removing it from the car is to solder the wires out of the car rather than in the car.

    Yep that too.

People should really ask GPF BEFORE cutting harnesses. Threads like this pop up all too often.

    yeah i hear ls1gtp.

depending where you cut the harness will be good or bad. there are 2 plugs at the end of it, and both plugs have the same color wires to both.

hese some pics. of my spare multi switch for a 98 regal, i googled your car, its the same.

the two plugs at the end. look like the same colors. one side does have fatter wires but not by much, if you cut it here where its taped off, you got a chance, if you cut it off by the switch, go find another one.

Alright thanks guys. I found the wiring block under the dash on my car. I'll Just go back to the junkyard and trade it out for a different one. They have a ton of GP's I'll be able to find another one easily. Just a pain to get the air bag off and pull the steering wheel off by hand.

go pick up a small 2 gear puller, the wheel pops off so nice and easy.

the air bags not all that hard either, just sick a screw driver in the hole and turn it for all 4 clips, do one side at a time.
