    I am getting two 12" Alpine single 4-ohm subs for my car. What kind of amp will I need to power them? Like how many watts, etc?

    Look at the recommended rms, compared to rms of the amp. Don't be played for max power rating. You won't ever see it in real life.

    ^this. and it's a good idea to leave yourself some headroom
