Ok so I've followed this great guide here:

    http://www.grandprixforums.net/04-gp...fix-34355.html

    And replaced these bulbs:

both in the blue circles and the green circle (the green circle ones being the biggest culprits and what the guide was primarily written up for). The ones I replaced in blue (3mm bulbs IIRC) work fine now, when it's dark. When it's sunny out, they don't light up (and I believe that's normal). The problem is the new "green" ones don't light up at all, day or night. The bulbs are good, tested with a 9v battery before installation. The stock bulbs that came out were definitely bad, they didn't light up at all with the 9v. Aren't those 3 supposed to be on all the time? Because my LCD display is totally blanked out now that those 3 bulbs aren't lighting up. Any ideas/suggestions?

Also, big thanks to Bio248 and drmurdoc for the guide.

Anyone have any ideas, or did I post this in the wrong sub-forum? I took a 9v battery with test lead wires and when I touch any one of the 3 bulbs they do light up, so that's good, now its just a matter of powering them somehow, I guess?

If they are led you may have put them in backwards

No, just regular bulbs, and as I said, they light up when 9v battery touches the leads, so I know they're soldered in properly.

When it's dark, yes, almost all of them light up. Like I said earlier, if I'm not mistaken the 3 in question (the ones in the green circle) are supposed to be on all the time, not just when it's dark out, but I could be wrong.

Ok, something's definitely wrong with the radio, I got a replacement off ebay which has (at least 1) good bulb in the faceplate, and it doesn't light up at all, either (I'm talking, I swapped faceplates not the entire radio, the entire radio won't work due to theftlock, obviously). This 'replace the bulbs, should be an easy project and take you about 2 hours' has turned into a major NIGHTMARE for me. Anybody know how to get this working, or tap off power somewhere to force these lights to light up?

    HELP!!

did the other radios lights work at least? if its a huge issue just tap a ignition circut and put leds in.

Yes, as I said: "I got a replacement off ebay which has (at least 1) good bulb in the faceplate" ... so how/where do I tap into an ignition circuit, somewhere inside the radio itself, or elsewhere?

well you could do on the back of radio. check 12+.com for color charts on which will be the turn on. or jsut wire it to the fuse panel on a turn on circut

Well, sorted now. Had the dealer unlock the radio I got off ebay, put my fixed faceplate on that radio, and now everything finally lights up as it should. This project has turned into an absolute expensive nightmare, and I probably would have been better off putting an aftermarket radio in. I'm not sure what went wrong in my radio that stopped lighting up just those 3 lights (and of course, the most important 3 of the entire radio) but I'm not handy enough to trace out what went bad and the places I've called want $60/hr or more for diag, not worth it.
