    hey guys i got a quick question i just want to make sure im wiring my subs correctly i feel as if its a pretty simple question... ive never owned DVC subs before on SVC so i know the wiring is a little different and im trying to achieve a 1 ohm load

    i have dual 12" Pioneer TS-W309D4 DVC 4ohm 400w RMS
    running off of a Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D it runs 1200 watts x 1ch at 1 ohm

    and while im at it guys... to properly tune the amp i will want to use a 50hz tone and then use this equation
    Voltage = sqrt(800W X 1 ohms)
    Voltage = 28.28427... V

    then i just use the dmm and im set right??

    video explains my question

    Two 4 ohm coils wired in parallel will equal 2 ohms, with that said if you wire both subs in parallel with each other than that load will equal 1 ohm. The reason you are not seeing the proper ohm reading is that it is a coil and your are actually reading impedence and not resistance. Your DVM is meant to read resistance and not impedence. So therefor 3.4 is actually considered 4 and 1.7 is considered 2. I hope I am clear enough, I am not an engineer, but if you were to ask one why then they would have a better explanation

    here is a wiring diagram for you to reference

    Also when wiring to your amp use the right speaker + and the left speaker - only, DO NOT use both sets of connections

    you will want all your bass, treble sub setting on teh deck at 0 when doing this. and make sure you have the correct 50 hz tone.

    simbah - can use both because my amp provides 4 speaker connectors and wires them in parallel so i dont have to

    jteske- i used the 50hz tone here..? didnt know their was a difference

    I mentioned that only because that's the way it was done according to the Hifonics Brutus owners manual on the Hifonics website.

    It said to only use two of the connectors? Why would it give you 4 then?

    should be the same regardless. Same manufacturer. Doesn't hurt to try, hell you may even stop your overheat problem in the process.

    I already stopped that problem a while ago I had a bad ground and the level was set too high... Not to mention bass boost constantly maxed on the HU

    I believe I see where you see that about connections and that's for their 2 channel and 4 channel amps but if you look at the set up for dual subs on the mono amp it show all 4 connectors being used
