I don't have one at all.. I looked.. I think the owner before me did something stupid like get rid of it.. nothing like some LED strips to light your trunk up! If only I could find the wires that give power to the light...

you could just run wire from the fuse box back and put a switch in. and yea i have a neon back there right now because the housing for the truck light was broke when i got the car, so my trunck lights up red. i feel cool when i pop it at night to light up the cardboard box full of tools and jumper cables and books ha

If you find it, those LED bulbs from diode dynamics are supposed to be decent.

Yea.. I don't wanna switch, I want the wires that activate power when the trunk is open, that way they turn on and off without me having to.

Just wire it to an ignition hot source. They will be on when the key is on off when the key is off.

    I wouldnt do that.

Most people go to relays for that circuit after 2-3 amps.

Found my light and changed it because it was burnt out but be very careful. Mine has a problem where the light stays on all the time and ran my battery down twice. First time I thought I had a bad battery and replaced for 120.00 then I finally wised up. Not sure what caused the light to stay on because I don't see a switch so I left it out. Someone said something about a magnetic switch but don't know anything about that

    Locating the trunk light: Trunk_Light

Deleting said light and going LED: LED_Trunk

smitz327, not sure how the trunk light can stay on, as the BCM shuts if off after 2-3 minutes (a pain when unloading a trunk full of stuff at night). There is a switch on the trunk lid that tells the BCM when the lid is closed. I had an issue where mine would not come on because the wiring on the lid was loose and the switch wasn't signalling the BCM.

I spliced a small led light bar to the truck light source, works great and the bar throws lights everywhere. If I get a chance I'll do some pics.

I found the switch, it is right on the latch. I tested it with the light in and it seems to work. I even shut the trunk and checked through the back seat and it works. Haven't left it on the timer to see if it goes out yet. Funny because when I trying to figure it out before, it was staying on. Maybe water got in the switch or something before
