i saw on another thread that a guy changed his turn signals to lights and i'm just curious more how we could do that. i was talking to my brother today about it and he said that since the led bulb you would replace it with doesn't have a time flasher or something like that and that turn signals work off of voltage you would need to replace the flash cube or something like that. he had to change it on his older truck because on his trailer had a lot of lights so he put in this in (thats the old flasher in this picture)

or else his turn signals would go crazy. any info on this that anyone knows how to switch over their turn signals with switch backs or some kind of led so the clearance lights on from would be white lights and when you turn on your turn signal they would be an amber or an orange color?

would i need to put in a resistor kit or could i just change the signal flasher (signal stat) to a timed electronic flash instead of the orginal signal stat?

You would need a set of load resistors as well as a set of switchback LEDs in the configuration you desire. The load resistors replace the "Flash Cube" you describe for our 2004+ vehicles because we dont have one and has to be wired into the turn signal. Its not hard at all. DDM Tuning and autolumination carry what your looking for.

so my 07 GXP doesn't have a signal module or what ever they are called? i've read on other forums that the BCM controls the signals and there is no signal module that you can replace with one with an electronic control. what is the real story for an 07 GP GXP?

Bcm controls blinkers. Flashing fast because it thinks a bulb is blown. A load resistor is what you need. You can get a pair on ebay for $5

can't i reprogram the bcm instead of cutting into wires? i just would rather reprogram than cut wires in case i want to revert back to non switchbacks? just want to do this without having to cut wires and then worry about losing the connection due to corrosion in the wire where id cut and add the resisters.

The resistor just goes between the ground wire and turn signal wire at the bulb plug. There is nothing you can program.. To return to stock you just remove it

6 ohm 50 watt is the standard. I got mine from diode dynamics, 60 Smd led, I love em to death

and you just run one of those on each bulb in parallel?

Yup, each bulb get ones, wire in parallel with the ground and turn signal power wire and your good to go! And go to diode dynamics for the resistors, they are about 10 bucks I think

As far as the bulbs I would buy from a repudibal seller, that will back their products up. Diode is the cheapest nice place I found. I've heard that the eBay bulbs tend to go out after a short period of time. As for the resistors, idk if there's a difference
