Simple answer...install yourself don't let idiots at BB do something that you can easily do yourself.

Somethings wrong thats too high, Id say try it your self or look for a friend to do it. It's not to hard to do it your self. What type of head unit is it?

Well, how much did she tell you in the first place? Installation for a head unit at Best Buy is like 40 bucks labor, and the adapter to include steering wheel controls is like 70 by itself.

Then you need the interface to retain your chimes and junk too, plus the dash kit and antenna adapter.

Remember not all cars are equal. He said it's an 02 GP. You have 04+. You don't need a special adapter or install kit to retain chimes, that's ONLY for GPs 04+ and I believe starting in 05 the adapter is around $100 or so. I've installed a radio in an 05 GP and it was a nightmare...

So yeah 40 for labor, then about 12 bucks for the dash kit, 10 for the antenna adapter, probably 10-20 for the wiring harness... then 70 for the steering controls adapter plus tax on all that.

I mean 280 is still kinda high, unless you're paying for the head unit too... honestly if you dont have the HU yet, buy of crutch field.

Honestly install a head unit is easy.
The hardest part will be the SWI module. You have to follow the instructions very specifically to program it (it's not just plug and play) and they're a bit wonky. As far as installing the headunit, literally if you have wire strippers, some electrical tape, and preferably a solder gun and some experience, it's about as simple as matching colors...

Most of it is color matching wires.. You'll get a wiring harness and it will have a description on what each wire is..you match it to the same wires on the headunit.

Playing it to safe it's really simple once you've installed one you'll hate yourself for ever paying someone to install one In the past.

they also sell a plug that plugs into the factory harness radio plug with colored pig tail and marked wires. that way theres no need to hack up the harness and play guess what wire is this.

make a install dummy proof, well almost lol

invest in a soldering iron and some solder and shrink wrap, makes everything last a lot longer.

if they dont have it, best buy should, it should be less then 30. i've used them in the past, it beats the old school way of cutting off the factory plug and splicing. and this way you can put the stock radio back with zero hassles.

these work well if your using all the factory wires, speakers and such.

if you going with a amp and new speaker wires, you can also just run your own power and grounds and let the plug hang back there. <<<no need for the adapter if you go this route.

That's what I was talking about. The wiring harness. Because the colors won't match up to the actual factory wires in many cases, but the wiring harness, almost 100% of EVERYTHING is color-matched. It's pretty universal. It should cost you maybe $10. If you pay $30 I feel bad for you.

Literally if you have the wiring harness, it'll be EASIER than installing an SC coupler.
