For my birthday I'm getting a new head unit and speakers in my car
I was wondering what is the best out there
I've looked into all the major brands like Alpine, Pioneer, infinity, etc.
I also have two 12" subs in the back so its gotta sound good and hit hard
Plus I might be getting for new subs so if you want two Punch P2 subs in a box plus an amp let me know
    thanks guys

Ur gonna get alot of mixed responses from this post...I personally have always had pioneer premier head units and never has a single problem out of them.Eclipse...clarion...alpine...are all good decks. Its really gonna come down to what u want for looks as all of these brands are very good.Go to diff stereo stores and bring a CD that u like and play it in all the ones u like and see what u think has better sound...Dont go the cheap route...ur gonna spend at "least" 300 bucks for a decent deck... IMO

    My opinion is:

Alpine used to be good they can be better now. My biggest issue with them now is the dropped the Vdrive amp in their HU.

    Eclipse very good, pioneer good.

    My 3 choice are above
    00' GTP 350/420 - Retired
    98' GS - Sold
    Current - Lexus ES300

I've been running the same Pioneer deck in my car for the past 5 or 6 years now, so that's kinda where I stand. But, I also like Alpine. Either on of those and you should be very happy.

I've used pioneer, panasonic, and alpine and for the money i paid and the functionality i got i have to say my alpine 9885 is the best i got. bought if off of crutchfield when it was on sale and they threw in the ipod adapter cable to boot as a promotion item and i could not be happier with it and when you can get the humount mounting kit. it's a little bit of money but well worth it.
1998 Grand Prix GTP Stock for now mods to come soon. Alpine 9885 head unit, 2 JLW3V2 10s, 2 Jensen 650x2 amps, and Tsunami wiring all the way around.
Ladies and gentleman take my advice. pull down your pants and slide on the ice

I didn't want to spend a whole lot of dough on mine. But I got a kenwood KDC deck which i'm quite pleased with. Nothing increadible to look at but it's simple and matches the interior okay. For speakers I went with Infinity Reference for the 6.5s and 6x9s. They had the best high and mid range clarity that i could find. I don't need much for subs so i went the cheap route and got the DUAL 12s that come already in a bandpass box with a 450 watt amp. Nothin that'll break your ears, but just about anyone who sits in my car compliments the balanced sound the whole package gives. The kenwood deck was about 150, infinity speakers, about 300 for all four plus tweeters. and 200 for subs and amp.
