I recently purchased an aftermarket Alpine stereo and installed it myself. It works great except for one thing... there were RCA inputs in the back so I purchased an RCA coord for my iPhone and ran the cable through the back and out into the glove box. I was not smart enough to test it before I put the dash and everything all back together again. When I hook my iPhone up to it the volume bar disappears so the iPhone obviously detects that it's hooked up to something but it will not play. Anyone have any ideas what's wrong.

Are you sure they're inputs and not outputs?

That's what I was starting to wonder. I'm just curious why if they were outputs why the iPhone would detect it like there was something detected.

Unless they say input, they are outputs. Check the manual.

The manual in no way mentions them and I didn't check to see if they said inputs/outputs before I installed the stereo

It may be an auxiliary input. If that's the case, you have to change your source to aux

That's what I was thinking I tried it on auxillary and all sources but nothing came up on any of them. I also tried it on my friends iPod today and that didn't work so I'm guessing that it's an output which is sort of disappointing.
