My front speakers sound pretty much shot. I don't have the budget to do a big upgrade right now I just want to replace the stock speakers painlessly and cheaply. I've googled around and searched these forums but didn't find anything that helped. All i know is the speaker size, I don't know what wattage to get or what the difference between two-way and three-way speakers is.

3 way speakers have another tweeter in them to add more range to the speaker. 2 ways will do find for you though. I have Polk Audio DXi650's in my front doors and they are awesome! Especially for the price.

Amazon.com: Used and New: Polk Audio DXi650 High Performance 6.5 Inch Coaxial Speakers (Pair, Black)

Also, for future reference. Coaxial is the same as 2 way.

How about the tweeters on the top of the front doors? 1"? Are those really necessary to change out if they don't work?

Make sure you have them wired right.
