Well there is a grommet to the D/S of the brake booster that has no wires going through it...you could use that. I've seen a lot of people run it through the harness grommet on the lower P/S of the firewall though.

The bottom hole in this pic is located just below/behind the brake booster on the D/S.

I'm not sure if it is easily accessed with the GP brake booster as it is bigger than my current booster, but if I were going to do it all over again, that's what I'd use since it's just a grommet with no wires through it.

It's accessible. That's where my boost gauge line and oil pressure wires are ran. But it's easier to go to the passenger side for the big power wire.

With a glowrod. Basically a pointy fiberglass stick. Strap your wires to it and push it through. It's still a pain in the ass. Easier to go through on the passenger side.

Easiest way I found is on the passenger side. Pull the carpet back some and you see a big grommet there makes it easier and uses less wire because the battery is on that side.

How did you get through the passenger side grommet? I read that one can poke a cut coat hanger through and then tape wire to coat hanger and run through. This being said, I found the grommet material too tough for my coat hanger. Do I have a different type of grommet or is there another method such as drilling?

It seems barbaric, but I rammed a screwdriver through the firewall side of the boot, then ran my 4 gauge wire through. I sealed the passenger compartment side with silicone.

i took the windshield cowl off the pass side, then deep under the windshield i drilled a hole, fed my amp wire right through the hole it dropped down and came out at the floor board.

Thanks for your input. I managed to find out there is rubber plug in way on 1997-2003 pontiac models. Pull out the plug inside of soft grommet and then poke screwdriver, coat hanger, or fibreglass stick through and run your your power wire through. Extra info for plug: I used screwdriver to pry it up then grabbed with pliers to pull out. It is split in two pieces. You will see when you pull it out.
