I built my box to sub specs for space in an afternoon and carpeted it too.

Most wouldn't do what I did. I planned for space, not for perfect sound, partially because I just want good sound. I have fold down seats in the Regal, so the amp is mounted to the underside of the rear deck. All the wiring is hidden/tucked etc. and the sub. Well here it is.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

That turned out really nice. The grills look super tasteful too. Gotta love a clean install.

One sheet of mdf, one tube of PL400, a box of deck screws, some carpeting, the round wire thing in the back (not a grommet the correct speaker piece) and an $8 grill.

Easy to pull out to fix a tail light, yet out of the way for anything I want to put in the car.

I dont think a propperly built MDF box is the wrong way at all. Although A Glass box would defently be nicer i looked into the process and its not for me.... i wanna do a wedge type design with the sub on the angled part in each font corner and ...gonna play with some math tonight and try to get a design down.

still a rough idea but as of now 2 of these on each side and then something of a similar shape for the amp to sit going from one side of the trunk to the other right where the space starts to tighten up. leaving the floor open for acess to the spare tire.

It beats having a big-azz box sitting in the middle of your trunk.

i second that, running a single 12 now and it sounds good and broke my mirror off. our cars are shaped perfectly for trunk systems to be loud.
im going 2 big 12s this month just cause im big in audio

Yeah the 1/0 kit . I ended up changing speakers to alpine type r's. Still waiting on the wireing from Knu, some odds and ends i ordered off ebay and the speakers from onlinecarstero.com. ...trunks stripped planing on buildong the boxes tomarow. I soldered about 1/2 the harness together as well

system is installed minus the subs..spent the week end wiring everything up instead of building the boxes. Still some bugs to work out but it still sounds great it should all be done by next week end.
