Okay so I have a 2000 grand prix gtp coupe with the Bose sound system. I bought all new speakers, a 4 channel amp, a sub, and a new head unit. How would I connect everything to the amp (mainly the speakers)? People always say to connect the RCA cables to the subwoofer port on the head unit. Help please?

rca cables x3 go from head unit to amp(s), two for the 4channel amp and 1 for the mono block amp for your sub, then the speakers connect to the amps, you need power and ground wires and remote turn on wire for the amps

The RCA's go to the respectable LF RF then LR RR for a 4 channel not the "sub woofer port". The subwoofer Line out is a low pass signal. The Front and Rear Line out's are High Pass typically which means they allow different frequency's and hz levels to travel through the rca's.

I haven't gotten my amp yet, but with the two ports for the front and back high pass, are there the same two ports on the amp? And do I have to buy another amp for my sub?

get a 100w rms four channel amp AND a single channel amp that is rated a bit higher then what the sub can handle

ya you need a amp for the sub which you will also need a distribution block to run power off of that one to power your 4 channel amp. If you only want to use the amp you got and run one set of speakers and the sub off of it you can do that too. Just can run everything off of it.

Well I have 6 speakers in my car cuz the 6x9s in the back have a 4 inch next to it..so I'm going to tie those into the 6x9s. What would I connect the sub to?

the sub cannot connect to the 4 channel amp if you are running all your speakers off of it. If you just run the front components for example you can bridge the remaining two speakers outputs on the amp to power your one sub. Or just buy a class D Amp which is just a single channel to power your sub. And use your four channel for your speakers, but if you dont got the money and just want the four channel to work then run two channels to the front component speakers, and bridge the other two channels together for the sub which i said earlier. It all up to you how you want to do it.

Alright. And since I am replacing the head unit, do u need a wiring harness adapter to connect my remote wire to my new head unit, or no?

you will need a new wire harness, dash kit, and antenna cable and that its for the head unit, assuming you already have and amp install kit

yes there is but if you didn't already buy your head unit sonicelectronix.com is offering free everything for the head unit install almost a $50 dollar value. Awsome deal and there prices on there equipment is very cheap too

you will also need a inline fuse at your battery, and then a other set after the distribution block. and most like a upgrade car battery.

the fuse comes with the amp install kit, no nuthin u gotta you out and buy seperate

most amp kit can only do one amp. you also need to match the inline fuse to the amp. the first one need to be the total of all amps. the ones in after the distribution should be the same as the amps.
