Well i'm starting to rebuild again. I will be going with all kicker except for my Kenwood KVT-815 DVD HU. I have just purchased a NIB SX900.4 for the mids/highs (components) I dont know if I want the SX900.2 or SX1250.1 for the subs which will be either 12"L7's or 12"CVX's either are fine for me. I will be getting the SXRC to control the Amps and the mids/highs will either be SS or RS 6 1/2 components front and rear. Later I might think about adding some mid bass drivers. It's going in my 08 GP. I don't race it and didn't want to pay outrageous insurance so I just bought the V6 for the fuel economy. Pics of it are somewhere in the introduction threads with pics of the Kenwood alreay in it. It should sound good when I'm done with her. I'm not out to win any competitions, just want a good sounding system when I feel the urge if you know what I mean. I'll post pics when it's done but probably won't be for a month or so.

Sounds like a good setup. Can't wait to see some pics with everything installed.

Be careful with the SX amps as you will get noise out of them if you use the "Kompressor" options. If I was going to use one for the subs I would go SX1250. The RS series I had sounded pretty good for the most part. Have fun with it.
OverKill PCM, PRJ 10.4 Wires, AutoLite 605, WizAir CAI, ZZP Plog, 2.5" Down Pipe, 3.5 Pulley, 180* Tstat, Borla Exhaust MECA SQ JL AUDIO 500/1, 300/4, 2-10W3V2, XR650-CSI, Kenwood DDX-6019 , Alpine amp and JL TR400CX center channel , 300 lbs of Dynamat.

Thanks for the advice. I still have to do my homework on all the options these amps have such as the kompressor. Like I said though. I'm not out to win competitions but noise is definitly a big peeve of mine. Any advice is good advice even if it's useless advice so just keep giving it please and Thanks. If I had the Money I'd buy the new 10,000W Warhorse amp kicker has with 2 12" solo X's dont really care to run 2 - 200amp altenators and 5 batteries as they suggest though. But could you imagine the massage you and your neighbors would get going down the road with that lol

Kicker Warhorse WX10000.1 (07wx100001) Mono Subwoofer Amps Car Amplifiers - Sonic Electronix

This is serious power and not for your daily driven vehicle
$10 g's is a little more than I'd like to spend but damn man 2 - 18" solo X's would be sending glass shards like a freakin car bomb

    some info on it

i'm running 2 kicker L7s with a ZX1000 amp...it pounds...depends what u man man, honestly i dont recomment the round kicker speakers, i've HEARD alot of bad about them. as for the SX, good choice, i wanted the sx1250 but i settled for the zx1000 cause of money purposes...i'll eventually upgrade to the Solo-X speakers...if they'll fit, lol

I was starting to lean towards the squares. I will be running a sealed box too. I listen to more rock, heavy metal and country music than anything but do still love to feel a good Rap song every now and then. I do know three six mafia has a few songs out there I want to hear again

I had a better sound with rock in a ported box and rap and hard hitting bass cd's in a sealed box.

I guess i'm just prejudice because I have never ran a ported/vented/tuned box. Always been a sealed enlosure type of guy. I could be missing out on something but really don't know lol

I have only had 1 or 2 ported boxes and never liked them. Always been a sealed box guy also.

a ported box can be better. it all depends on where you tune it. most rap should be tuned around 38-42 hertz. a sealed box will give you the nice punchy bass. it will pick up all kinds of bass. a ported box will be louder, and keep the subs cooler.

I hooked up the SX900.4 to the stock speakers while the RS6's are in route to be delivered. I see what you mean by the sound you get while using the Kompressor modes JCG's-GTP. It's almost like a soft constant wind in the back ground. I hooked it up so I can get familiar with the options and the SXRC which is awesome. I mounted that under the heater controls using a single din mount where the empty compartment is. I'll get a pic of that up here tonight. The stock speakers actually sound pretty good but I know they won't last to much longer lol. Should have the RS's tomorrow. Still don't know what to do about the rears. Get some good 6x9's or make a form and put another set of components in the back. Still saving a little towards the SX1250 and subs.

im not big on the modding holes in ur car like the guages in the vents nor modding the 6x9 speakers....if i were you i'd keep 6x9's back there...thats my opnion...and lol stock speakers probably won't last, atleast mine didn't.

I wish I could trade places with the heater controls though. It'd be easier to get to but it still is fine for me
