So I am sure this has been asked before but I did search and I didnt find exactly what is going on with mine.

    Here's what going on...

I installed some switchbacks in a 1998 GTP today and currently when I have the running lights on they are just dimly lit amber. When I turn on the turn signal they act normally (other then hyperflashing). When I turn the hazards they act normally. For some reason I can not get them to turn white while the turn signal is not activated.

Here is where it gets confusing... When I have the car shut off and the running lights on they are still dimly lit but when I hit the turn signal, the direction that is activated will turn white. Since the car is not running or in the on position with the key there is no signal to the bulb to activate the turn signal. So I dont know why it is acting like this... People have stated that after a week or so they start acting normally so I will ride it out for a week or two to see if for some odd reason they start working correctly but I have my doubts. also when I cut the dark blue wire going to the bulb socket the white part of the light turns on. I also tried to put a diode inline with it but it would either turn the light off completely or act like it was acting as if it was directly connected.

All I have done is installed the lights to this point because I can live with the hyperflash but it pisses me off that the white doesnt turn on. Its the whole reason why I got them in the first place. So if anyone can give me some tips on what might be the problem or point me in the right direction that would be great!

    Thanks again guys (and Girls).

Someone else just asked this question but hasnt said if this has worked for him. When mine were not working I made sure all my corner lights were LEDs. Try that and see if it works.

    Kasey...

That worked. Thanks man for the help! I would have never thought about doing that. Even just pulling them out fixed the problem. I still never got the hyperflash problem fixed. I put a 6ohm 25W resistor on one side to see if that would fix it and still hyperflashing. I put the resistor on the Black and blue wires. Do you need both resistors hooked up on both sides to make it work correctly? or is one side enough... Please let me know.

    THanks again for the help!

Just go ahead and get the flasher module or mod your existing flasher. It's much better than the load resitors.
