So I was looking at buying new speakers and an amp since I have been without music for about two months. We have done everything we can think of to solve the issue including, Changed out HUs installed and original HU back into the vehicle and resetting the security system in case the Anti theft was somehow triggered by the Aftermarket HU. The reason this is weird is the radio was working fine for over 6 months before this issue. I do not believe the HU is having any issues as we swapped it and the problem remained. The only other thing that we can think is some how the stock amplifier went out causing this issue. So I looked at getting a stock replacement from junk yards around here but they want over $100 for one out of a junker... I can buy an amp for cheaper then that.... SO i thought well why not just look at upgrading but i quickly realized I only know a little about subs from you guys soooooo...
Im not looking for a killer system just something that is nice and I dont have a ton of money (absolutely broke college student). However, my birthday is coming up and im thinking maybe I can pull some strings. So as for speakers I think i can manage reading some reviews and what not to find out what would work I was thinking some 6.5 components and either a set of 6x9 in back or maybe components. But for the amp when im looking should I find an amp whose power will hold the peak of the speakers? Cause alot of the aftermarket speakers peak at around 350 a set and usually 500 or more for the rear and those amps are over 200$. So i was just wondering if I should look for that or what I should look for in an amp. Thanks guys youve always been a help
