Alright so I have a single din kenwood head unit in my car right now and want to upgrade to a double din. My question is what is the difference between these $700+ name brand stereos and the like $150 ebay ones? Are the ebay ones worth the buy and you just get a knock off or do they have problems? Thanks in advance, Mike

different settings, better quality, warranty, name brands like Kenwood, Alpine, Eclipse etc.. last longer then ebay ones. IMO id only go with name brand no ebay ones

What different settings would they have? And better quality in sound out-put or just the way they are built?

yes better quality and sound out put name brand ones are built alot better. the name brand would have more subwoofer, speaker, etc settings. its hard to explain witch models are you looking at ill compare the differences for you

eBay unit: its only 45wx4 most name brand cheap HU are at least 50wx4. the resolution is only 800x480 witch isn't much so picture quality wont be bad but could be better. does not show RMS. it has a SW out put but i dont see it having much settings for it IMO. only pre set tuning no custom tuning (EQ). 1 year warranty. but still no bad for the price.

Kenwood: this one allows alot more custom tuning for your system you can ajust the frequency's etc. depending on what you are trying to go for is the difference. if your looking to build a system you will need one like a Kenwood you need certain settings for your SW and speakers. you you just want a double din HU and are not looking to hook up SW or anything go with the eBay unit if you want to save money. its all up to you but IMO id go with the Kenwood. Kenwood is a good brand and its worth the extra money and you wont regret it if you get it. there's alot more you can do with it and it will last longer

Do you have any sites you can recommend for nice but somewhat cheap headunits? Also I am going to need the double din trim piece and can not just use my single din one correct?
